Full specifications and details of all our Versi Clip connecters are available on the downloadable datasheet above.
GHS Pro Ribbon Clips for ribbon tape SMD & COB – width 8mm / 10mm / 12mm, 2/3/4/5/ 6 Pins, LED Strip Solderless Connectors, RGBW & Single mono CCT colours, Tape to Wire, tape to tape. A solderless LED strip connector for RGBW and single-color (mono) tape is a push-down clamp designed for making secure, low-voltage electrical connections without soldering. These connectors are specifically for use with IP20-rated, or non-waterproof, LED tape.
Types of solderless connectors.
Vibration proof – Resistant to high and low temperatures – Flame retardant – Resistant to salt spray
Tape to wire
This type is used to connect a cut end of an LED strip to a power supply, controller, or extension cable.
- Mono (2-pin): For single-colour LED strips. It has a single positive and single negative contact.
- RGB (4-pin): For standard colour-changing strips. It has a common positive and separate pins for the red, green, and blue channels.
- RGBW (5-pin): For strips that include a dedicated white chip in addition to the standard red, green, and blue. It has a common positive and separate pins for the R, G, B, and W channels.
Tape to tape
This connector is used to join two separate sections of LED strip together to extend the length. Corner connectors These are used to create neat turns, such as 90-degree angles, without bending the strip itself. Some have a flexible cable, while others are a rigid L-shape.
Key features and compatibility
Solderless installation
Instead of using heat, a clamp-down system with metal contacts pierces the copper pads on the LED strip to make the electrical connection. For most models, a pair of pliers is recommended to press down firmly and secure the clip.
P20 indoor use
The “IP20” rating means the connector is not waterproof. It is designed only for use with non-waterproof LED strips in dry, indoor environments. Using it with IP65-rated (water-resistant) strips is not recommended, as the waterproofing resin would prevent a secure connection.
Strip width
Connectors come in different sizes to match the width of the LED strip, such as 8mm, 10mm, and 12mm. Always ensure the connector width matches your strip width.
Pin configuration
The number of pins must match the type of LED strip: 2-pin for single colour, 4-pin for RGB, and 5-pin for RGBW.
COB vs. SMD
Some connectors are designed specifically for COB (chip-on-board) LED strips, while others work with traditional SMD (surface-mounted device) strips. It’s important to use the correct one for your specific LED strip to ensure a proper connection
